Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew was mopped by students of the University of Ghana following his visit on Friday as a Guest Lecturer.
He was officially invited to lecture students of the Sports Psychology course.
Addressing the class, the Le Havre player lectured about the psychological effects on humans and how to handle them.
He called for support for the current crop of Black Stars players, noting that most of them started playing outside the shores of Ghana unlike players of the early 2000s who started in the local leagues.
“These current young ones leave the shores of Ghana very early, so they tend to cope more with what they’re experiencing abroad,” he stated.
“So coming back to Ghana to re-adapt to our culture and values is not easy,” he stressed.
He called for psychological support for these young ones.
“What we can do is psychologically, everybody needs to understand what Ghana means, what Ghana football means to the people. The young ones would need more support to be able to focus on what playing for the country means.”
