Arsenal midfielder Thomas Teye Partey has pulled out of the Ghana squad to face Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Thursday, October 10.
The former Atletico Madrid player is said to be experiencing “medical issues” and has been scheduled for further tests by the Gunners.
Therefore, permission was sought to withdraw him from the crucial game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In the absence of Partey, West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus will captain the Black Stars for the game. This was made known by coach Otto Addo at the pre-match presser on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, three other players have also withdrawn from the squad.
LA Galaxy’s Joseph Paintsil, Feyenoord’s Ibrahim Osman and Samsunspor’s Kingsley Schindler are the other players who pulled out from the squad.
All these players have seen been replaced by new call-ups including Elfsborg’s Michael Baidoo.
