The Black Stars are still without a win in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The team was held to a 1-1 draw by Niger in the second Group F qualifier on Monday, September 9.

The four-time African champions went into the game after a painful 1-0 defeat to Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, September 5.

Just a couple of minutes to the first half break, France-based defender Alidu Seidu hit a powerful ball to break the deadlock at the Stade Municipal de Berkane in Morocco.

But the Menas of Niger equalised in the 81st minute to the disappointment of the Ghanaian coach, Otto Addo.

“We have to use our chances and also defend better,” he said after the game.

“The goals we conceded were too cheap, and we need to learn from this. This is even more than a wake-up call,” Otto Addo added.

Ghana will next play Sudan in home-and-away games in October before taking on Niger and Angola the following month to wrap up the qualifiers.
