Ghana’s representatives in Africa next season FC Samartex and Nsoatreman FC have known their opponents in the CAF inter-club competitions.
Both Ghanaian clubs will start from the preliminary round in their campaign for the ultimate.
They got to know their opponents after the draw was held by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday, July 11.
FC Samartex, who won the Ghana Premier League for the first time, will play Victoria United of Cameroon.
Opopo, as the Cameroonian side are popularly called, annexed the Elite One title for the first time last season.
Nsoatreman FC, who also won the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup for the first time in their history, will host Chad’s TP Elect-Sport FC in their first continental game.
The first legs of all the preliminary round matches will be played on the weekend of Friday, August 16-18 and the return legs exactly a week later.
Both Ghanaian sides are hoping to reach the group stage as the initial target.
Last season, Dreams FC made it past the group stage into the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, attracting a lot of praise from Ghanaian football fans.
They lost to eventual champions FC Zamalek of Egypt.
