Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex are set to make their debut in the CAF Champions League as they land in Cameroon for the preliminary round qualifiers.

The Timber Giants left Accra on Wednesday night and touched down in Douala, in time for the first-leg encounter against Victoria United.

The match is scheduled to be played on Sunday, August 18 at the Japoma Stadium.

On the same day in Accra, another Ghanaian side, Nsoatreman FC, will be making their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The MTN FA Cup winners will host Chad’s Elect-Sport in the first-leg of their preliminary round qualifiers.

The Ghanaian side will have in the dug-out new manager Yaw Preko, who took over from Maxwell Konadu a couple of months ago.

The two Ghanaian sides will play the second legs in exactly a week.
