Ghana’s men’s 4x100m relay team earned sweet revenge over their arch-nemesis Nigeria when they clinched gold in the ongoing African Senior Championships in Douala, Cameroon.
The quartet of Ibrahim Fuseini, Isaac Botsio, Edwin Gadayi, and Abdul Rasheed Saminu blitzed the quality African field to erase memories of their painful loss to the Nigerians at the 2023 African Games on home soil.
The victory was made all the more remarkable because Ghana’s team did not include Joseph Paul Amoah and Benjamin Kwaku Azamati who have been the backbone of the resurgence of Ghanaian sprints since winning gold at the 2019 African Games in Morocco.

It will be recalled that the Nigerians shocked Ghana with a 38.41s clocking to win gold at the African Games while defending champions Ghana had to settle for silver in a time of 38.43s.
