The schedule for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers was released over the weekend by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The draw for the qualifiers for the 35th Cup of Nations was held last Thursday, pegging Ghana in Group F alongside Angola, Sudan and Niger.
Per the schedule, the Black Stars will host the Palancas Negras of Angola in September in their first qualifier before travelling away to play Niger.
There will be a break immediately after those two games.
After resumption in October, the Black Stars will host Sudan’s Falcons of Jediane, coached by former coach and captain James Kwesi Appiah.
Kwesi Appiah has transformed the Sudanese team, leading the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in a group that also has 2002 World Cup quarter-finalists Senegal.
The return leg of the Ghana-Sudan encounter will be within a couple of days, before the final two qualifiers are cleared in November.
The tournament is scheduled to be held from Sunday, December 21, 2025 to Sunday, January 18, 2026.
