Abdul Hakim Sani Brown produced a life time best 10.05 to book his place in the semi finals of the men’s 100m at the IAAF World Championships London 2017.
Brown, who has a Ghanaian father and a Japanese mother, started the race on blistering note and held his never to beat Jamaica’s Yohan Blake who clocked 10.13s and China’s Zhenye Xie with 10.13s.
Back at Beijing 2015, Abdul Hakim Sani Brown spoke to www.liquidsportsghana.com about competing at the IAAF World Championships, his Ghanaian roots and the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
He will be aiming to qualify for the final of the men’s 100m, having exited at the semi finals stage at the 2015 World Championships Beijing 2015.
The youngster burst on the international scene at the 2015 World Youth Championships where he won the 100m with a championship record 10.28s(PB).
Three days later he doubled by winning the 200m in 20.34 into a -0.7 headwind.
The time was .16 faster than the championship qualifying standard, thereby punching Sani Brown’s ticket to the world championships in Beijing as a sixteen year old.
