Serbian coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has left his post as Uganda’s coach over unpaid wages.
Milutin met Uganda FA (Fufa) officials on Monday over the issue of unpaid wages but the two parties were unable to resolve their differences.
It follows a week of speculation over the future of the Serbian in the Uganda press but it appears the two parties could not reach an amicable settlement.
On Saturday, Micho confirmed to BBC Sport that he was leaving his position.
“It is a notice of termination due to non payment of salaries,” the Serbian stated.
Michu, 47, was appointed to the Uganda post in May 2013, guiding The Cranes to their debut Africa Cup of Nations finals in 39 years at Gabon 2017.
Meanwhile, Uganda’s FA issued a statement on Saturday saying they “will forever keep those memories with them.”
It remains to be seen the effect Michu’s departure will have on The Cranes with crucial 2018 Fifa World Cup matches coming up against Egypt and the Black Stars of Ghana.
