German giants Borussia Dortmund have given the green light to their talent manager Otto Addo to coach Ghana at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup in November.
Addo led Ghana on an interim basis to defeat Nigeria to secure qualification to the world cup in March but he is still contracted to Dortmund where he serves as the head of talent.
Following talks between the Ghana Football Association and Dortmund, the former Black Stars player has been permitted to continue in his job.
“We have now, fortunately, discussed it to the end. I have been given permission by Dortmund,” the 46-year-old revealed in a podcast of the “Hamburger Abendblatt”, confirming that he will coach Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar (21 November to 18 December).

He explained that he will be able to oversee Ghana’s preparations for the tournament during the international breaks leading to the world cup.
“I got permission from Dortmund. Under certain conditions, it works out that I can do the international game phases in June, Sept & also the WC.”
This ends all the speculation about who was going to take charge of Ghana’s senior national team at the World Cup.
Ghana’s President Nana Akufo Addo famously joked he was going to kidnap the Dortmund Talent manager after he bravely led the team to secure a 1:1 draw with Nigeria in Abuja in March.
