Black Stars and West Ham United midfielder Mohammed Kudus says he expects a “tougher” second season in the English Premier League because almost everyone knows his abilities.
However, he assures that there is a lot he has to offer.
In an exclusive interview with The Athletic FC’s Adam Leventhal, the former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder says a very difficult season awaits him.
“Setting the standard is not as difficult as maintaining it,” he indicated.
“It’s going to be even tougher now everybody knows me. But I’m still far from my top abilities.
“The first season was just the beginning.”
Kudus moved from Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie to West Ham United in the English Premier League in 2023.
Already, there are talks of a move away from the East London side, who have a new manager in Julen Lopetegui after the departure of David Moyes.
Kudus described the rumours as “normal”
“When you perform at those kind of levels in a league like this, it’s normal to have rumours and hear about other clubs,” he stated.
“But right now my focus is getting prepared for the new season and then we will see how everything goes.”
West Ham United will take on Aston Villa at home on Saturday, August 17 in their first game of the 2024/25 season.
