Sudan coach James Kwesi Appiah has reacted to the draw for the qualifiers of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which saw his side placed in the same group as Ghana.
The draw, held in Johannesburg in South Africa on Thursday, July 4, saw the two placed in Group F alongside Angola and Niger.
Speaking after the draw, Kwesi Appiah, who is a former captain and coach of the Black Stars, said he is hoping the two make it out of the group.
“I’ve always said there are no minnows in football now,” he is quoted as saying immediately after the draw.
“It is really important that any team you meet, you prepare very well a d make sure you have the right team to try and win the day.
“Personally, I also think and hope Ghana and Sudan qualify in the group.
“For now I think that is what I can say and I wish both teams the best.”
The qualifiers are scheduled to begin in September and end in November.
