Ghanaian marathoner William Amponsah set a new national half marathon record when he clocked 1hour: 03.15sto place 8th in the Great North Run [Elite men’s division].
The national 5000m record holder’s performance eclipsed his won national record 1:05:38 which he set at Onista, Nigeria on 22nd October 2019.
He thus made a 02.23s improvement over his previous personal best performance.
The event was won by Uganda’s 🇺🇬Jacob Kiplimo.
