Golf legend Tiger Woods has spoken about how the assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump affected his sleep ahead of his appearance at the  152nd Open Championship in Scotland.

The 48-year-old American was on a flight from Florida to Scotland when the incident occurred on Saturday.

He told the BBC,I didn’t accomplish a lot because I wasn’t in the right frame of mind.”

Adding,It was a long night [because of the assassination attempt] and that’s all we watched the entire time on the way over here. I didn’t sleep at all on the flight, and then we just got on the golf course.”

Woods last won his 15th major at the 2019 Master’s but has endured a torrid time on the greens in recent years, withdrawing, and missing the cut in eight of the 13 championships he has entered. Yet he never gives up as he fancies his chances at Royal Troon.
